Annie Herring Shealy

Gaffney - Service for Annie Louise Herring Shealy, 77, formerly of Columbia, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Boyce Chapel of First Baptist Church, Columbia, with burial in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Little Mountain. Memorials may be made to the Deaf Class, First Baptist Church, Columbia. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo.

Mrs. Shealy, wife of the late Frank Edward Shealy, died Sunday, January 22, 2006. Born in Raleigh, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Bertus C. Herring and Essie Corrine Smiley Shealy. A graduate of the S.C. School for the Deaf in Cedar Springs and Miss Cedar Springs of 1947, she retired from Seibels-Bruce Insurance Co. She was a member of the S.C. Association of Deaf Club, Seibels-Bruce Club and First Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Frankie Ann Monteith of Portsmouth, Va.; son, Thomas Edward Shealy of Gaffney; brother, Henry Bryant Herring of White Oak, N.C.; and grandchildren, Michael and Ainsley Monteith and Jonathan, Matthew and Sarah Shealy. She was predeceased by brother, Thomas Bert Herring.
