Charlie David Carter
FLORENCE - Charlie David Carter, 75, died Sunday, January 29, 2006, in a Florence hospice facility after an illness.
A memorial service was held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2006, in the Calvary Baptist Church Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Carter was born in Orangeburg, SC, a son of the late Tiller Charlie and Jessie Belle Blum Carter. He was a typesetter with the Post & Courier in Charleston for many years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher.
He was predeceased by a son, Alvin Bennett Carter. Survivors include his wife, Lois Sims Carter of the home; a daughter, Connie (Steven) Vendrick of Summerville, SC; a son, David Carter of Goose Creek, SC; a step-daughter, Pansy Anderson of Lamar, SC; a step-son, Chris (Terea) Miller of Timmonsville, SC; a sister, Edith Costello of Florence; and seven grandchildren.
