Peggy C. Black
CLEMSON -- Peggy Cook Black, 78, wife of Marvin Black, died Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Anderson Area Medical Center. She was a native of Clemson and was the daughter of the late Colonel Edward W. and Harriett Heffner Cook.
She was a graduate of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and was a member of the alumni association and also a member of the S.C. Association for the Deaf. She was a great supporter of Clemson University having worked at the university library for 43 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a step-son, David Fletcher of Abbeville, SC and a step-daughter, Kimberly Anita Gillette of Anderson; sister, Dorothy Riddle of Myrtle Beach, SC and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 11am in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central with burial to follow in Cemetery Hill in Clemson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8pm. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Walker Foundation at the SC State School for the Deaf, 355 Cedar Spring Road, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or to Clemson University Foundation, Cooper Library Fund, Clemson University, 110 Daniel Drive, Box 345601, Clemson, SC 29634-5601.
Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is
