SCAD Officers Election
The SCAD Officers’ election will be conducted on the last day of the conference with the eligible members present casting their votes by ballot. The following are the positions which will be voted on: President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Member-at-Large 864, Member-at-Large 803, Member-at-Large 843.
If you are considering running for one of these positions, there will be a sign-up board at the conference where you may enter your name as a candidate. The requirements to serve as a SCAD Officer are: The candidate needs to be a permanent resident of South Carolina throughout the term with at least one year of regular membership prior to running for office, except for the President who must complete two years of regular membership; candidates should be fluent in American Sign Language and pay dues for two years in advance upon being elected; once officers are elected, they should not be an officer or director in any Association affiliates.
After the elections are held, all new SCAD officers will take the oath of office and be sworn in. The new officers will serve a term of two years, with the term beginning after the end of the 2011 SCAD conference, except for Members-at-Large which will serve a term of 4 years.
