Search Assistance/Placement- SCESC is an excellent
source of job referral and placement assistance. Our workforce centers assist employers large
and small to fill their job openings.

SCOIS-
South Carolina Occupational Information System- SCOIS provides access to
several Career Assessments, College Information, Occupational Information and
much more. For more information : www.scois.net

Unemployment
Insurance- Unemployment Insurance may be available to
workers who lose their jobs. It is
temporary assistance and made possible by taxes paid by employers. For more information: www.sces.org/UI

Federal
Bonding- USDOL provides a $5,000 theft insurance
policy to employers as an incentive to hire people with: criminal record, poor credit, dishonorable
discharge, poor work record.

Navigator- SC
has Disability Navigators located in ten of our Workforce Centers. They assist people who have disabilities with
employment and resources available to them.
They also advise employers on incentives available to hire people with
disabilities.

WOTC-
Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a tax credit available to employers who hire
people in target groups such as: AFDC/TANF Recipient, Veteran, Food Stamp
Recipient, EZ/RC/RRC Resident, Summer Youth, Vocational Rehabilitation
Referral, Ex-Felon, SSI Recipient, Long Term AFDC/TANF
Recipient.

Training
Resources- Information is available on services such
as assessment, counseling, employment/career planning, and short-term
pre-vocational services, as well as training to help customers move forward,
including job readiness, occupational skills, On-the-Job Training (OJT) and
customized training services.

Labor
Market/Employment Statistics- Access the LMI website at www.sces.org/lmi for the most current South
Carolina labor market information available, including the unemployment rate,
current employment statistics, and employment projections.

Business
Resources- ESC Workforce Centers offer employers free
space to conduct their job interviews, access to our web based electronic job
listing, recruiting, screening and referral services.

Resource
Center Access- We offer the job
seeker an array of services to assist them in obtaining employment. This
includes: Winway
resume—used to create a professional resume, Mavis Beacon Typing Tutorial—used
to practice typing skills, internet
access—to search for job openings, Word, Excel, free fax services for job
seekers, employability workshops, assistive technology to aid customers needing
ADA compliant equipment.
